Archive Search

Archive Search

If we are unable to locate your records immediately over the phone we can conduct an archive search. The search will be carried out by a member of the administration team who will assign time to conduct a thorough search through our archives.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

The cost of the search is £60.00 and non-refundable

If the search is successful and we can produce a document i.e. a certificate or learner achievement report you have the option to purchase the document however, payment for the document must be made in advance.

Please Note: If the search is unsuccessful you will only be reimbursed for the cost of the document the search fee will still apply.

WHAT INFORMATION DO I NEED TO SUPPLY?

In order to help us with the search it would be useful if you could provide us with as much information as possible e.g. your maiden name if you married after you received your certificate.

Please bear in mind that the search may not return any results for you as we can only search Open Awards archives.  If you have not been registered with Open Awards the search will be ineffective.

Tip: If you are unsure which awarding body issued your certificate, you could contact the centre where you took the course or if you can, contact a friend who was on the same course to ask if they still have their original certificate.  You can also search the website for a list of awarding bodies in the UK.

Learner Achievement Support

Due to historic references some archive courses do not hold records of completion criteria so it may not be possible to produce a certificate or learner achievement report. Nevertheless, it would be possible to confirm if you were registered on an Open Awards accredited course.

In this instance we can produce a letter of confirmation of achievement which will provide details of the course title, number of credits achieved, level, date of achievement and the centre you attended.

  • There are two letters, Letter 1 confirms if you completed the course (i.e. achieved all credits required).

Click here to view sample copy of Letter 1

  • Letter 2 confirms if you attained partial achievement (i.e. you achieved some but not all of the credits required).  We will check our records and confirm which letter will apply to you.

Click here to view sample copy of Letter 2.

HOW MUCH DOES A LETTER OF CONFIRMATION OF ACHIEVEMENT COST?

The cost of the letter is £25.00 per course (in addition to the search fee)

HOW DO I REQUEST THIS?

If you would like us to conduct a search into our archives please complete the Archive Search Request form.

Depending on payment method the form and scanned copy of your ID can be emailed to customerservice@openawards.org.uk

HOW QUICKLY CAN I GET IT?

Where applicable the documentation will be issued within 10 working days from receipt of authenticated claims and once payment has been received and processed.

If the search is unsuccessful we will notify you via email within 10 working days of receipt of your request.

If you have any questions or require further information with regard to the above please do not hesitate to contact us on 0151 494 2072.
