We are delighted to present our Autumn 2021 Validity Review. This puts you in the driving seat to shape and update qualifications with Open Awards.
Reviewing Qualifications is part of our duties as an Awarding Organisation regulated by Ofqual. When we develop qualifications, we add a review date which is normally 5 years’ hence. This is to ensure our Qualifications remain valid and that there is still a demand for them.
Validity is a great opportunity for you to feedback on our qualifications. You can help us to check whether the qualification still provides an appropriate output of skills and knowledge in relation to its title, purpose and content. This year we are seeking your input on how the qualification helps learners to progress and realise their goals.
In order to ensure continuity of accreditation, we give plenty of warning ahead of time that qualifications are being reviewed. All qualifications that fall under the review may be subject to change, but any changes will be from September 2022. Therefore, you can go ahead during this current academic year as planned with a qualification that is fall under review.

What happens now? From 1 September to 5 November 2021 we are inviting you to feedback on these qualifications, and there are several ways you can participate:
- By Survey – You can complete our online qualification survey, which takes about 20mins to complete. Please complete one per qualification, using the following link. We will be writing to our Providers who are currently using these qualifications too
- Validity Panel – You can participate in one of our Validity Panels. Details and links to bookings are in the table below:

NB Food Hygiene, Forest Schools and Equine Sports Massage qualifications will be by arrangement.
The deadline for all feedback is Friday, 5 November 2020 by close of business at 5:00pm.
We will then process all feedback received and inform you of the actions by the end of January 2022.
