On Wednesday 11th March, our Business Development Manager (Access to HE) Rachel Newman attended Edge Hill’s ‘Supporting the Supporters’ event. The event was designed to support parents and guardians of learners from year 9 to year 13 and give them advice on what their options regarding future learning.
The team at Edge Hill gave presentations on their curriculum offerings, finance advice and HE guidance. Rachel met with the attendees and talked about the different level 3 options available to the learners including Access to HE. Rachel explained how an Access to HE course runs for typically 9 months and is the equivalent of three A-Levels. Rachel asked the attendees what subjects their learners were interested and informed them of all the amazing diplomas we offer in conjunction with our fantastic providers.
Paul from Ormskirk attended the event looking for information for his ‘Science mad’ daughter who is currently in year 9. Paul commented ‘Before attending today, I wasn’t aware of the Access to HE course at all. After having a little chat, I now know all about it and think it would be a really good option for my daughter. When I leave the event tonight, I’m certainly going to see what Access courses are available in my area for her.’
