Following recent standardisation activities facilitated by Open Awards (on behalf of IfATE), the following approach has been agreed across End-point Assessment Organisations delivering against the Chartered Manager apprenticeship Standard:
- 20% sampling approach for the review of apprentice portfolios
- Assessment decisions made against the learning outcomes as a whole rather than each individual assessment criteria (the assessment criteria will be used as a guide for assessors)
What does this mean for apprentices, training providers and employers?
In practice, this does not change anything for the apprentice or their training provider and employer. Portfolios should be prepared and submitted in the same way as previously.
If this approach to assessing the portfolio represents a change for your chosen EPAO, they will be updating their guidance materials and will communicate these changes to you.
