Happy World Teachers' Day 2022!
Launched in 1994, World Teachers' Day was introduced to celebrate the amazing work of all educators throughout the world who are changing lives through learning every day and to inspire others to get into teaching.
With that in mind, it seems like the perfect opportunity to discuss the Open Awards Online Teaching and Learning Design course. Throughout this post, we'll be taking a look at who this qualification has been created for, the various modules included within the suite, expected learning outcomes and how providers can access it via our eLearning shop front.
So without further ado, let's dive straight in...
Who Has the Online Teaching and Learning Design Course Been Created For?
The Open Awards Online Teaching and Learning Design Course has been created for new and existing tutors and teachers in Primary, Secondary, and Further / Higher Education who are interested in developing their practices in Learning Design and Blended Learning.
The course asks participants to reflect on current practices and evaluate learning theories and their personal educational philosophy. It hopes to demystify the terminology to do with learning online and provide guidance on planning and designing for specific audiences.
There are videos and interactive games to help you digest the content, plus some practical activities that you can use with your own learners.
Modules Included Within the Online Teaching and Learning Design Suite
The suite comprises of 5 modules, accessible via the Open Awards eLearning Shop. As you work through modules 1 to 4, you will achieve various eLearning badges and participation certificates.
Module 5 involves directed tasks to provide evidence to meet the standards of the Badge of Excellence quality assurance mark from Open Awards. Your work will be moderated against quality standards and you will receive a Badge of Excellence certificate of achievement to add to your CV.
The 5 modules cover the following topics:
- Learning, Technology and Education
- Planning and Designing for Learning
- The Facilitator: Developing the Role of the Blended Learning Tutor
