Open Awards were delighted that their Chief Executive and Responsible Officer, Heather Akehurst was recognised in the King's New Years Honours List with an OBE for services to Further Education in Merseyside.
Heather has been Chief Executive Officer of Open Awards for ten years and is a board member of the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority Freeport and Liverpool John Moores University Students’ Union.
Heather Akehurst OBE said "The Award recognises not only my work but, importantly, that of all Open Awards colleagues and Trustees; as well as our Providers – all of whom ensure we work to change lives through learning."
