I had the privilege to attend the Peoples First Awards Ceremony 2024 yesterday evening, and it was such a wonderful event. Faye and the rest of her team worked very hard to make it a special event for the learners, parents, employers, staff, and guests who attended the evening.
It was clear from the smiles on the learner's faces how important this award ceremony was to celebrate their success. It was great to see how the learners have utilised our Open Awards qualifications to support them along their journey with People First with some learners moving into full-time employment! There had awards made for each learner to compliment their certificates which was such a lovely touch.
You can really see the passion, energy and support from everyone who was in attendance. The commitment from the employers they work with was amazing. There's a real sense of community and support from them in wanting to ensure these learners get their chance to have paid employment opportunities.
It’s exciting to hear about the launch of their new project Creating Careers with help from the National Lottery Funding they have received. I can’t wait to hear more about this and work with the rest of the team in supporting these learners into their next stage of life.
I’m going to be supporting Faye hands-on, coming down to the learning centre and seeing everyone in action. This will allow me to guide them towards the best qualifications that will suit the needs of their learners, ensuring flexibility and opportunity for all!
