Open Awards Level 4 Experienced Worker Assessment for Forestry Works Managers

The Experienced Worker Assessment route provides a direct to assessment opportunity for individuals who have worked as a Forestry Works Manager but have not achieved formal qualifications to recognise the skills, knowledge and experience they have. 

Candidates can register through the Silvestor Platform managed in partnership with The Forestry Commission, The Institute of Chartered Foresters, and adaptiVLE.

Full guidance and support is provided through this platform. Once candidates have submitted their portfolio and supporting evidence through the Silvestor platform, they will be registered with Open Awards and a member of the team will arrange an assessment planning meeting. 

Entry Requirements

Candidates must be aged 21 or older at the time of registration for the assessment.

They must be working as a Forestry Works Manager and should have a minimum of five (5) years’ work experience in the role at the time of registration for the assessment. There are no English or Mathematics requirements, but candidates should feel confident using English to assemble documents for their portfolio and presenting information for the assessment.

Assessment

The Forestry Works Manager assessments consist of two (2) assessment methods:

• Assessment Method 1 – Professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence
• Assessment Method 2 - Presentation and questions
