Access to HE Pathway Moderator
Open Awards is seeking expressions of interest for quality assurance specialists to join our bank of Access to HE Pathway Moderators. Details of our Access to HE portfolio can be found at http://openawards.org.uk/access-to-he/what-subjects-do-we-offer/
We are specifically seeking Pathway Moderators for units within the following modules:
- Art and Design
- Commercial Aspects of Computing
- Electrical and Electronic Engineering
- Leisure and Tourism (from September 2019)
- Maths for Computing
- Media Make Up
- Sport and Exercise
Pathway Moderators must be available to undertake moderation visits to Open Awards providers in February and June. Additional activities, including training and standardisation may be required outside of these times. The availability and volume of work is dependent on the number of Access to HE learners registered.
Pathway Moderators must be subject specialists able to review the quality of assessment of Level 3 learners’ work and verify achievement. Previous experience of Access to HE provision is desirable but not essential. Moderation visits will follow a standard format and include sampling of assessment evidence, ensuring that all correct units are being
delivered, reviewing progress against actions previously set, setting actions for further improvement and, where possible, meeting with learners to obtain their feedback.
Pathway Moderators will be supported by Open Awards’ Lead Moderators and other colleagues as required. Training will be provided as necessary.
Full details of the role overview and person specification can be found here.
