Open Awards Open Inspiration Webinars

Our Open Inspiration events are platforms for us to come together and discuss the issues facing our sector over the next 12 months.

As the 2020-21 academic year begins with many unprecedented challenges ahead, we are bringing you a series of online webinars to help, support and advise in every sector of Open Awards.

Our first set of webinars will be;

Open Awards' Open Inspiration - Considering adaptations

A guide to the pitfalls to avoid when considering adaptations to delivery and assessment in response to COVID-19 and the need for remote working and social distancing.

Feedback to learners - Wednesday 7 October 12.30

Best practice for assessors feeding back to learners. This session will outline how to give feedback to learners that makes a difference, exploring feed-back and feed-forward, and how to know whether it has made a difference.

Making a difference through IQA - Wednesday 14 October 12.30

The internal quality assurance role is key in driving improvements in the quality of delivery and assessment in your centre. This session will highlight ways in which the IQA can make simple but effective improvements through feedback to assessors, standardisation and much more.

Assessing SLC - Wednesday 21 October 12.30

Functional Skills centres have identified issues with assessing groups of learners undertaking speaking, listening and communicating assessments. This session will guide you through SLC requirements both in the assessment room and online and share good practice exemplars.

Assessing in the workplace - Wednesday 28 October 12.30

Qualifications with elements of work experience, practical skills and group work normally assessed in the workplace may be affected by social distancing rules and local lockdowns. This session will provide centres with alternative delivery and assessment ideas to overcome challenges posed by COVID-19.
