COVID-19 General

The Open Awards office closed at 4pm on Friday 20th March until further notice. However, the team are still working as normal remotely and all services continue to be available via the portal. If you need to speak to a member of the team, please use customerservices@openawards.org.uk in the first instance and a member of the team will call you back or if you know the direct number for the person you want to speak to, please call them on that. 

We appreciate your patience during this period and want to assure you that our business systems ensure that we can still deal with your queries. 

We will let all our centres know if the above position changes. Please can you ensure that all contact details are correct and kept updated. 

Following the announcement that all schools and colleges will close after the 20th March 2020, we have made the decision to suspend our usual certification procedures. 

Therefore, we will not automatically post out certificates to centres. This is to prevent certificates being posted out to centres that are closed or that will be unable to receive and distribute to learners. 

However, our certification service is still available as usual for those that require it. Therefore, please contact customerservices@openawards.org.uk to request that you continue to receive your certificates and to confirm the delivery address for these. 

If your school / college / building is going to close for a period of time, please let us know by contacting customerservices@openawards.org.uk or 0151 494 2072. We will then work with you to rearrange any scheduled quality assurance activities and ensure that we do not post any certificates or assessment papers to you during this time. 

If you have any concerns about the impact on your learners' assessments or completion of a qualification, please contact your Lead Quality Reviewer directly or by emailing quality@openawards.org.uk. 

We have cancelled all face-face training/events up to the end May. If you were booked onto one of these events, you will have been contacted by the relevant team.

We are adding additional webinars and online training in response to the current needs of our centres. If you need anything in the meantime please contact the team on customerservices@openawards.org.uk or by calling 0151 494 2072.

Please be assured that you will not be charged for any events or training that you are unable to attend short notice due to COVID-19 or the resulting advice/guidance around isolation / social-distancing. 

No additional charges will be incurred by centres that relate to late registrations or submissions that are a result of the impact of COVID-19. Wherever possible, we ask that you continue to follow our usual procedures to avoid any disadvantage to learners. If you have any concerns relating to your delivery and assessment; administration procedures; or invoicing/charges, please contact the team on customerservices@openawards.org.uk and the appropriate member of the team will give you a call to discuss.
