Open Awards is delighted to announce that following a recent review of our Access to HE Licence provision, we have been given the best risk rating possible by the QAA. Our Access Licence has also been renewed for a period of 5 years and now spans until 2020.
The top ‘low risk’ rating reflects the significant investments we have made in our provision over the past year. We now have more dedicated Access to HE staff who are working on support our centres, refining our processes and reducing the administrative burden for our centres. We have also stepped up our engagement with Higher Education Institutions to raise the profile of brand through committee work and outreach events.
Heather Akehurst, Open Awards’ CEO, says, “I am extremely proud of both our Access to HE centres and staff for achieving the low risk rating from QAA. It is great to have this recognition for the work that we do at Open Awards. We look forward to continuing to deliver high quality diplomas for learners in our centres and our Higher Education stakeholders.”
Our Access to HE centres have also praised our levels of service. Jeanna Solomon a pathway coordinator at Bolton College says, “The most positive aspect of working with Open Awards is their understanding of the workload pressures on Access tutors. Feedback is taken on board and processes are developed to help rather than hinder us. Open Awards work closely with us to streamline procedures and ensure that resources are tutor friendly”
