Functional Skills in Information and Communication Technology and Entry Levels

The Functional Skills Qualifications in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at Entry Levels 1, 2 and 3 aims to equip learners with the skills and confidence to apply, combine and adapt their ICT knowledge and skills to new situations in their life and work in a range of contexts and for various purposes.

Functional Skills in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) assessments are designed to assess confident and competent use of the skills of:

  • Using ICT
  • Finding and selecting information
  • Developing, presenting and communicating information

The assessments are externally developed by Open Awards, internally marked by your tutors, and are designed as assessment tasks based on real life contexts, such as:

  • Work and education
  • Community, citizenship and environment
  • Family, home and social issues
